We replaced the flat bronze band with a half round. Amy and Diana installed it.

Boom moved up 12"

To shorten the luff of the main and give us more head clearance in the cockpit, I raised the boom 12-14" at the mast end. This is Pax on November 21, 2007.

Hasse and Kaci measuring Pax for sails

Carol Hasse personally measured every inch of Pax before we agreed on a custom sail plan. Pax' mast is 2.5 feet higher than similar spidsgatters and her fortriangle (I and J) are different than the closest sister, Fri. We've decided on a double reefed main (at 30 and 60%) and a roller furling jib that will allow for some of the traditional Danish overlapping genoa with the ease of reefing we'll need for single or short handed sailing. Trading tradition for function and safety here and very glad to have Port Townsend Sails quality from the start.

New waterline struck

Diana Talley and Amy Schaub struck a new waterline while I was stuck in post festival paperwork. I've sorted them out, removing most, and have now reinstalled the basics so I can build on to it and we can better imagine our new cabin interior. Imagine comes before - do and pay for!

Pax rudder

I'd like to meet the person (Jan Wiley, per chance?) who built the rudder. She or he, chose some beautiful mahogany and Sitka spruce and made it very strong. I added an HDM bushing between the upper pintel/gudgeon to take out the play/stop the wear. Will varnish the tiller (Yew) adding some turks heads and either leather or marline twine lashing for our hands and where we'll tie it when at anchor/in port.
